Before I created my first commercial logo, at age 16, I became obsessed with graphic design through skateboard art. The big artists of the time, Craig Stecyk, Jim Phillips, V. Courtlandt Johnson, and skateboarders Mark Gonzales and Neil Blender, helped shape the way I drew and designed. I still have the iconic sticker boards of JAH Skate and Reggae Shop, the store my mother and I opened in 1988 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and it serves as a source of great inspiration. As a lifelong carpenter I spent my adult years designing and building everything from skateboard ramps to timber frames and fine furniture with my wife as Belcher Hollow Forge. I have now returned to one of my first loves: graphic art. I work in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, as well as, Google SketchUp to create web, print and virtual designs and logos.
